About the Oregon Fringe Festival –
The Oregon Fringe Festival was developed in 2014 by students of Southern Oregon University. Fringe Provides a platform for young artists to produce both new, inventive works and is a conduit for for creative passions of those who value the traditions that make their art great in the first place. With a focus on celebrating collaborations between different art forms, newly devised works or those that put new spins on classic ideas, Fringe believes simultaneously that all art is new and all art is recreated. OFF is sponsored by the Oregon Center for the Arts at Southern Oregon University and is a student produced arts festival that takes place every year in the beautiful town of Ashland, Oregon. Come and join us in the celebration of the arts and entertainment!
“in 1947, eight theatre groups turned up uninvited to perform at the (then newly formed) Edinburgh International Festival, an initiative created to celebrate and enrich European cultural life in the wake of the Second World War. Not being part of the official program of the International Festival didn’t stop these performers – they just went ahead and staged their shows on the ‘Fringe of the Festival’” — Edinburgh Festival Fringe
